To understand the role of the HDI engine and the term EGR let me give you some basic information
"The secret of HDI's EGR technology and its huge impact on performance and economy!"
HDI Engine:
The HDI engine is a type of diesel engine commonly used in vehicles. The letters "HDI" stand for Electronically Controlled Direct Injection (High-pressure Direct Injection) and refer to the high-pressure direct fuel injection system used by the engine. The HDI engine is characterized by high fuel efficiency and strong torque, which makes it popular in cars and trucks.
EGR:
EGR (Exhaust Gas Recirculation) is an important technology in modern diesel and gasoline engines. The system aims to redirect part of the exhaust gases from the engine and return them to the fresh air inlet. This is done by opening the EGR valve which allows gases to flow into the engine's air intake.
Role of EGR:
The main purpose of an EGR system is to reduce emissions of nitrogen oxides (NOx) which contribute to air pollution. When the recirculated exhaust gases mix with the fresh air entering the engine, combustion heat is cooled in the hot parts of the engine. Thus, harmful NOx formation is reduced. The system also improves combustion efficiency and fuel consumption.
